Jamie Oliver's flagship Italian restaurant chain, "Jamie's Italian", has been given a £6,000 fine for flouting packaging legislation over a period of two years.
The Bath-based company was found to have failed to register as a producer of packaging, and to have failed to take steps to recover and recycle packaging waste, despite its sustainability pledge.
The details of the offences by the TV chef's company were published by the Environment Agency in a list of civil sanctions they had accepted in the past few months.
The document detailed the fact that the company offered to make a financial contribution to the Young People's Trust for the Environment in order to offset their environmental offences. The Italian restaurant chain are also are required to register with the Valpak compliance scheme to avoid further fines.
