Environment Agency

Introduction
The Agency was set up by Part 1 of the Environment Act 1995 and offers a single point of contact for business and is a move towards the Government's stated aim of single permitting.
As part of a streamlining and devolution process, a new body, Natural Resources Wales (NRW), was established by the Welsh Government to take over the duties of the Environment Agency in Wales, meaning the Agency now operates in England only.
The Agency assumed legislative functions as prescribed under the following Acts:
