On 14 September 2007, the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment (DETI) published the Health and Safety at Work Order (Application to Environmentally Hazardous Substances) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) SR 2007/403, which amend previous Regulations on the same subject. The previous Regulations enable the Health and Safety at Work (Northern Ireland) Order SI 1978/1039, to apply to such substances.
The new Regulations will come into force on 5 November 2007 and update references to various EC Directives, so that Regulations can be made under SI 1978/1039.
