HSE see more fatalities

The Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSE NI) have launched an investigation after a fatal accident involving a dumper truck on a County Antrim building site.

A spokesman for the HSE NI said an investigator had been sent to assess the site at Priestland Road, Bushmills, which is owned by north coast developer Seymour Sweeney.

Although it is not yet clear how the accident took place, it is believed a workman had been inside the vehicle when it fell down a steep incline.

The workman was said to have been very conscious of health and safety throughout his career in labouring. The company have launched an internal investigation and have stated that the contractors will be working closely with the HSE NI to establish exactly how the accident happened.
