A short time ago, in a studio not far away ...

Harrison Ford has been injured whilst filming the eagerly awaited new Star Wars film, Episode VII, at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire. Mr Ford, reprising his famous role as Han Solo, broke his ankle after a door fell on him on set.

Following the accident, Mr Ford was assessed by medics on site before being airlifted to hospital for further treatment.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has now launched an investigation into the accident on the set. A HSE spokesperson said, "We have been made aware of an incident at Pinewood Studios and are making initial inquiries".

A spokesperson for Disney, which now owns the Star Wars franchise, said, "Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care."

However, there is no need to panic Star Wars fans, the filming will go on without Mr Ford. The filming schedules will simply be reshuffled until Mr Ford has fully recovered and is able to return to filming his scenes. Until then, may the force be with him. We hope the hospital food isn't too Chewy.
