A lorry driver in Loranville, Larne has been fined £400 for the unauthorised disposal of waste tyres at a bonfire site in north Belfast.
An investigation by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) found that Gavin Anderson, the driver of a curtain sided lorry, parked beside a bonfire site located in the Mount Vernon Estate, Belfast on 4 June 2013 and off-loaded a quantity of used vehicle tyres.
Mr Anderson appeared at Belfast Magistrates Court where he pleaded guilty to two counts of unauthorised waste activities under the Waste and Contaminated Land (NI) Order SI 1997/2778 and was fined £200 on each count.
