Electricity Costs (Domestic Electricity Accounts) Emergency Measures Act 2022
This Act was signed into law on 4 March 2022 and applies to Ireland only.
Due to the exceptional rise in global energy prices it provides for the establishment of a scheme to be known as the Electricity Costs Emergency Benefit Scheme for the purpose of making, on a one-off basis, an electricity costs emergency benefit payment in the year ending 31 December 2022 in respect of domestic electricity accounts.
This Act amends the Electricity Regulation Act 1999 to confer functions on the Commission for Regulation of Utilities in relation to the Electricity Costs Emergency Benefit Scheme.
