These Regulations were made on 19 December 2001 and apply to Ireland only.

They have limited environmental and safety relevance, but do contain provisions relating to:

• exempted developments due to licences granted by the Environmental Protection Agency;
• environmental impact assessment;
• notice to the Health and Safety Authority (HSA);
• Natura impact statements (NIS).
