Fire (Scotland) Act 2005

This Act received Royal Assent on 1 April 2005 and applies to Scotland only.
It aims to modernise the fire and rescue service through reforming fire and safety legislation. In doing so, it revokes and replaces the majority of the Fire Services Act 1947, as it applies to Scotland, and continues the implementation of the following:
- Directive 89/391/EEC, on the health and safety of workers at work;
- Directive 89/654/EEC, on the health and safety requirements for the workplace;
