Planning Inspectorate

The Planning Inspectorate deals with planning appeals, national infrastructure planning applications, examinations of local plans and other planning-related and specialist casework in England and Wales.
Duties
The Inspectorate make decisions and provide recommendations and advice on a range of land use planning-related issues in a fair, open and timely way.
They operate a fair planning system regarding the appeal process and help meet future infrastructure needs. They implement Government policy and consider the interests of developers, local citizens and other interested parties in recommending to Ministers which projects should be built.
