Introduction
The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment was founded in 1919 and is led by the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment. They are in charge of developing, promoting and co-ordinating innovation, research and development policies.
Key areas of responsibilities
The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment has the following key areas of responsibility:
- promotion and co-ordination of innovation, research and development policy;
- developing of intellectual property policy;
- funding for Enterprise Ireland, Science Foundation Ireland and the Programme for Research in Third Level Institution.
