Building Control Regulations SI 496/1997

These Regulations came into operation on 1 July 1998 and apply to Ireland only.
They were made by the Minister for the Environment and Local Government under the Building Control Act 1990 in order to prescribe the:
- giving of notice of the start of building works;
- need to obtain a fire safety certificate in respect of certain proposed works;
- payment of fees to the local building control authority;
- maintenance of a register of building control records for individual buildings; and
- procedure for appeals to an Bord Pleanála against certain decisions of building control authorities.
