Arsenic, Cadmium, Mercury, Nickel and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons In Ambient Air Regulations SI 58/2009
These Regulations came into operation on 23 February 2009 and apply to Ireland only.
They were made by the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government under the Air Pollution Act 1987 and the Environmental Protection Agency Act 1992 in order to give effect to Directive 2004/107/EC relating to arsenic, cadmium, mercury, nickel and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in ambient air.
Directive 2004/107/EC aims to:
- establish target values for arsenic, cadmium, mercury, nickel and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in ambient air;
- make sure the ambient air quality is maintained and improved;
