Safety, Health and Welfare At Work (Carcinogens) Regulations SI 78/2001
These Regulations were made on 8 March 2001 and apply to Ireland only.
They were made by the Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment in order to give effect to Directive 90/394/EEC, on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to carcinogens and mutagens at work.
Under these Regulations employers must carry out an assessment of the risks associated with the use of a carcinogen or mutagen in the workplace and take steps to control such risks by eliminating or minimising exposure.
