These Regulations came into force on 30 June 1996 and apply to England, Scotland and Wales.

They are made under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, and aim to ensure oil and gas installations and oil and gas wells are designed, constructed and kept in a manner to meet any health and safety requirements affecting them.
