These Regulations came into force on 20 April 2010 and apply to Scotland only.

They partly implement Directive 98/83/EC, on the quality of water intended for human consumption by amending the:

1. Water (Scotland) Act 1980;
2. Water Industry (Scotland) Act 2002;
3. Water Supply (Water Quality) (Scotland) Regulations SSI 2001/207;
